Thunder stealer: Eva Sophia (*Eva Maria)

Is it considered stealing the thunder, if I am the first to blog about Eva?
Meet my newest niece. Eva Sophia/Maria? was named for our first ancestor to come to America from Hachenburg, Germany. Eva Maria Licht. We visited the church where Johann Adamus Hammacher and Eva Maria Licht were married in 1739 in Germany last summer. We saw their names recorded in the 270 year old books and we drove around the country side they farmed. Last fall, my mother went to the newly excavated Hammacher cemetery in Hershey, PA. A barn build by their son still stands there. That land is now where the Hershey Chocolate factory stands. 13 of our ancestors, including Adam and his children were buried there.
...and as if that is not enough...
She is my 5th niece, and I am the 5th child. She has an E and an A in her name, and so do I. Do you see the connection? I feel it.

I feel the connection between the a and the e. You've totally got it! I claim a perfect connection with my neice Elayna because we share the same middle name. And my husband and I are a perfect match because we are both second to the youngest. Those obscure connections are strong. Roll with it and congrats on stealing the thunder!

Keri, you are so funny! I love the connection you note and feel. Keep up the good work.

I too descend from Johann Adamus Hammacher and Eva...
Do you share pics of your trip to Germany with "cousins"?

I would love to connect with you and compare notes.

My line migrated to Ontario, Canada after the Rev War and rather lost touch. I had to search a long time to find my connection through Noah Hamacher..note the spelling changes.

My own grandfather spelled the surname as Haymaker in some of his letters in the day. Just shows there is more to a name than the way clerks spell it.

If feel the connections to my kin strongly as well, and love the discovery and joys of hunting for them in history.

Hope you can share with me.
