AIDS/HIV
>> 17 February 2009
I wish there was a cure for AIDS. I wish that people could get the antiretroviral drugs they needed. I wish there were not so many people dying. In Botswana, one third of the population in the next 8-12 years will die. This will leave 20% of kids in Botswana as orphans. I wish Botswana had providers that made enough money to support the orphans of their dead family. I wish that the average age of 6-10 years old for kids first sexual encounter in Botswana was much older. I wish the sex trade did not exist. I wish that 42 social workers were not in charge of 100,000 orphans in Botswana. I wish that I could change all of it. I wish it had already been changed.

Remember the starfish on the beach story. Save one starfish at a time and do the best you can. I like that you feel strongly about a cause and that you want to help.
