When I was 16, Anya came from Tynda, Russia to live with me for a year. I said after she left that having her come live with us was one of the best things I ever did in High School. We lost touch with her, indeed, we were told that she had died! We desperately tried sending emails, phone calls, even translated letters into Russian and sent them. We just lost all contact seven years ago. Eight years later, after a thorough internet search I found a social networking site to join. With my google translator and Russian 'facebook' I found her!! We were so excited to talk with her again. She had been living in Beijing and is now in Moscow. I've always loved her passion for life, happy attitude, and willingness to try everything and anything. I still love my dear Russian sister and I hope I will get to see her again sometime in my life.

awww!!! i'm so glad you don't think she's dead anymore! that would have been devastating, i'm sure. :(
Maybe she'll come back to the US?
I love that you are such a loyal friend that you would search like that.
I hope someone loves me enough to do a Keri-esque search if I were lost.
I hate the picture of me, but I am so glad you found her again! It's good to know she's not really dead.
