Skeets and tramps

>> 27 December 2008

Here are David, Jeromy, and I on a snow filled day of bliss. I felt like there was magic everywhere.
In skeet shooting I tied my brother Shane for Last Place of four people. In fact, my last hit was one bullet that hit two skeets at once. Even cooler, these two skeets came from opposite directions. I impressed myself. The guy in the video is the equivalent of a golf caddy. I should have tipped him. He was awesome.

I only get pictures like this once a year, when Minna, my sister-in-law/up-and-coming-photographer-extraordinaire comes to town.
I drove home for the Holiday. My nephew had the best commentary on the drive from Utah on I-80. He said, "Hey! I have seen this field before." Very true Wiley. It's all actually one big field.
It has been fun and very very snowy here. This morning we spent time hooky bobbing with sleds from my dad's truck. I was really proud of all the little kids in our family. Wipeout, after face plant, after white wash, they came back for more. To see a youtube video of our adventure go here.
On another note, Our theme for Christmas was "Preparedness." I gave away 18 knives. I got six. I just wanted people to know what to give in case this theme ever comes up in their family. Actually, maybe its a warning of themes to stay away from if you don't like cutlery. Merry Christmas!!!

May I have your attention please: A toilet papering

I am not a great studier. This doesn't mean I don't spend hours in the library or holding a book. I have to sit in the library for three hours to get one hour of work done, but at least I try. HOWEVER-there are those rare moments when I am so focused a bomb could go off and I wouldn't notice. I get very lost. I don't hear or see people. This was one of those moments. Because they are so rare, Mike took advantage of it, and then documented his uncontested success. GOOOOOO FINALS!

My big brother is having his first kid

>> 03 December 2008

Mike and I were talking about how excited I am to have so many new little nephews and nieces around next year. Based on the existing children in our family, I have some strong suspicions that the newbies will be bigger, better, more bold than the general population, and as beautiful as ever. We are getting to have so many grandkids in our family. Cody, David, Wiley, Noelle, Hannah, Rosie, Jane, Micah Indy, Lucy, and soon to be three more!

I mean just check this last one out! SO DANG CUTE! WHO COULD RESIST!
I think what we are most curious about as a family is what Shane and Lauren's kids will look like. We know so little about the kids they have now. We used the closest thing we could to their kid and generated some possible faces for their future lil ones. Tell me which one you think will be the closest!

My birthday

>> 02 December 2008

I feel love from just about everywhere: I have a great deal of friends and acquaintances. I wanted to say how impressed I was with the effort that so many of them made to make me feel loved for my Birthday. Good job guys! I'm so lucky to know you, and you, and you, and you.

Three separate cakes, one pie, cupcakes, a potluck, two surprise celebrations, rollerblades, the plaster bust of a crusader, one great movie (Everything is Illuminated), a silver eagle necklace, pine sprits, a trip to Chicago, and a great trip to Blue Man Group later- I am feeling pretty good about being 24.

Sadly, I failed to extinguish the lights on my tasty deserts almost half of the time, but I got so many chances with all those tasty morsels, I should get my wish at least once.
